More about this photograph: The location of this image is the former Traverse City State Hospital a.k.a The Northern Michigan Asylum in Traverse City, Michigan. Specifically Hall 13. In October, 1910, an elderly patient died when trying to escape from this hall. He was found on the ground below with a partial sheet clutched in his hands. I re-created what the scene may have looked based on news reports. The window shown with the sheet is on Hall 13 in Building 50.
