More about this photograph: The location of this image is inside the former Traverse City State Hospital a.k.a The Northern Michigan Asylum in Traverse City, Michigan. Specifically inside one of the rooms of the Northside of Building 50. This room was on the former womens ward #17, designated by the State as  a "most disturbed" ward. The view out the right window is of the spire located over nearby ward #11 (an intermediate ward) This photo was taken in 2004 and as of 2007 this room (and the entire northside of Building 50) remains as-is,  or "mothballed" until future development takes place circa 2010. The view from the outside looking up at this room can be seen in the photograph, "Angels in the Architecture, Women's Side".
